Introducing Forest Kindergarten at our beautiful Pukekohe location!
Our new Forest Kindergarten programme is based on a stunning private farm in Pukekohe that we have been blessed to use for over the past 4 years, offering an unforgettable outdoor experience for children.
Designed specifically for younger children aged 3-6 years (up until their 7th birthday), this programme is a nurturing, play-based introduction to nature school learning.
This programme provides tamariki with the freedom to explore, discover, and connect with nature in a truly special environment.
Each Wednesday, Alex will guide children through a day filled with nature discovery, sensory play, storytelling, and gentle challenges that build confidence and a sense of wonder. Through unhurried play in the bush, open-ended exploration, and meaningful relationships, tamariki develop essential life skills, creativity, and a deep connection to nature.
Each day is filled with a mix of child-led play and structured activities, including:
- Shelter building & whittling
- Exploring native plants and wildlife
- Pest tracking
- Scrambling up hills, boulder climbing & natural obstacle courses
- Stream play and water-based learning
- Essential life skills like fire-making, tool use, and outdoor cooking
What to expect:
- Nature-based play and learning tailored to younger children.
- Small, supportive group with a 1:5 ratio.
- Hands-on activities, storytelling, and free play in nature.
- Encouragement of independence, social skills, and resilience.
- Connection with local wildlife, plants, and natural materials.
